Freeze Athletics Cheerleading

I was a competitive cheerleader for 11 years but my favorite year was 2020, even though covid ruined it. This year I had the best year as many of my teammates were young and looked up to me in so many ways. I enjoy working with children of all ages but the primary age is my passion, having children look up to you is an inspirational feeling I could never get enough of. Helping my teammates in all the ways I did them asking me for help and watching them do something they have been working towards is something I hope to have for many years to come. Being a competitive cheerleader shaped who I am, and the life I am living. Being a cheerleader made me follow my heart and become a teacher.

Girl Guides of Canada

Guiding has enriched my life and influenced my future plans. The Guiding program has taught me to be a well rounded person with varied interests. Through the program I have learned to appreciate the beauty of British Columbia through many adventure trips. I have learned that nature is an important part of a healthy active lifestyle which I would promote to students. Throughout my time as a leader I have planned weekly meetings within the community while engaging the girls that have varied interests while allowing them to learn new skills. Being a leader has prepared me to be a leader as I have a “curriculum” I need to follow in order for the girls to earn all the badges.

Canucks Autism Network

I started with Canucks Autism Network in September 2024. In the fall I volunteered in the pool supporting autistic kids to swim. In January I got hired on and became a support worker. Working one on one with these kids and making connections with them is my favorite part of the job. Helping the kids thrive while promoting inclusion and acceptance where every Autistic individual is understood, accepted and supported. Spending time with autistic kids has shown me how much I care about their inclusive education and making my classroom a safe and inclusive place is very important to me.
